Living local in Central California.

Big Sur, Yosemite, San Francisco, Carmel by the Sea, Santa Cruz and a whole lot of coastline.

What was suppose to be a short visit with friends, Covid had other plans for me and my quick trip resulted in what became a memorable experience of living local in Central California. With Big Sur south, San Fransico north, and Yosemite east, there was much to see. The breathtaking sunsets became my daily inspiration which were only a fraction of their beauty captured.

Surfing the Shorebreak.

Carmel by the Sea isn’t the most famous surf spot in California nor the kindest. The locals are pretty friendly but the fast hard shorebreak is not. Unless you are an expert on a shortboard, I suggest watching or waiting for the slow calm rollers that make their rare appearance. It is however left fairly empty most of the time because of this. My routine wave check and beach hangout did allow me to enjoy a few waves to myself while I was there.
